Jon Rahm Commits to DP World Tour Event for First Time Since Rejecting LIV 2.0

Jon Rahm has taken a major step in his professional golf career by committing to his first DP World Tour event since rejecting LIV Golf’s proposed restructuring, known as LIV 2.0. The two-time major champion will compete in the Abu Dhabi Aldar Championship, scheduled for November 5–8, 2026, at Yas Links.

This marks a significant shift for Rahm, who has previously faced fines and disputes over his participation in LIV tournaments while maintaining DP World Tour membership. His decision comes amid ongoing uncertainty in professional golf, as LIV Golf navigates financial challenges following Saudi Arabia’s withdrawal of funding.

By participating in the Abu Dhabi event, Rahm strengthens his eligibility for European Ryder Cup selection and aligns with his earlier agreement to compete in at least five DP World Tour events this season, including the season-ending playoffs. The Spaniard, known for his success in the United Arab Emirates, expressed enthusiasm for returning to the region, calling it a pivotal moment in his career.
