LIV Golf is planning a major restructuring for 2027, aiming to expand its tournament schedule to 17 events—including 10 signature stops globally—after losing Saudi Arabia’s financial backing following the 2026 season. The league, currently in Chapter 11 bankruptcy, is seeking up to $300 million in new investment from BC Partners, with players potentially owning a majority stake (52.5%) in the revamped league.
Initial financing of $4 million has already been committed to support the restructuring process, though the full $300 million remains contingent on court approval. Earlier proposals had suggested a more conservative 10-event calendar, but the expanded plan signals LIV’s ambition to reshape professional golf’s competitive landscape as it emerges from bankruptcy early next year.
