Jets might have an answer to their kicker woes — even after ghastly miss

New York kicked off the 2026 campaign on a high note, securing a 23-10 victory over Tennessee in Nashville to give Aaron Glenn a winning debut as head coach. The triumph ruined Robert Saleh's first contest leading the Titans against his old squad, as New York's defense held firm against opposing quarterback Cam Ward.

Offensively, the visiting group generated 367 yards overall, powered by Breece Hall's 102 rushing yards and a touchdown along with notable involvement from Garrett Wilson.

The afternoon also marked a triumphant comeback for Geno Smith, who threw for 215 yards in his first start under center for New York in 3,612 days. On special teams, former Miami standout Jason Sanders handled placekicking responsibilities for the opener after Glenn resolved the position battles and finalized roster moves prior to kickoff.
