Following a dominant outing against Illinois, Ohio State wide receiver Jeremiah Smith collected both the Week 4 Big Ten Player of the Week accolade and the AP National Player of the Week honor. The standout freshman reeled in 12 receptions totaling 217 yards and reached the end zone four times.
That stellar production allowed Smith to match a program single-game record for touchdown catches previously shared by Noah Brown, Dane Sanzenbacher, Terry Glenn, and Bob Grimes. He also secured his place as just the sixth player in school history to surpass the 200-yard receiving mark in a single contest, combining with quarterback Julian Sayin to continually defeat single coverage.
