Jamie Overton's cheeky reply to online trolling after gut-wrenching loss to Sri Lanka wins fans' hearts

England suffered a crushing defeat in the third ODI tri-series match after failing to defend a massive 429-run total, as Sri Lanka successfully chased the target to secure a victory. Captain Harry Brook led the hosts with a record-breaking double century, yet the bowling attack struggled significantly against the visitors' aggressive response.

Following the loss, Jamie Overton faced online criticism for his bowling performance but earned praise for his composed and humorous response to a social media detractor.

Sri Lanka's chase was anchored by key contributions from Pavan Rathnayake, Avishka Fernando, Dasun Shanaka, and Janith Liyanage, who hit the winning six in the final over. Despite late wickets from Josh Tongue, England fell to their second consecutive defeat, jeopardizing their chances of reaching the tournament final.
