Jamie Carragher apologises to Aston Villa for ‘clumsy and wrong’ comments

Jamie Carragher has issued a public apology following backlash over remarks he made regarding Aston Villa. The club had previously indicated they might pursue legal measures against the pundit for his assertion that the side would never reach the status of Manchester United.

Carragher clarified on social media that his intent was humorous, though he acknowledged his phrasing was inappropriate. He extended his regrets to the supporters and ownership, concluding his statement with a message of support for the team.
