Saracens forward Nick Isiekwe has avoided suspension after a disciplinary panel overturned the 20-minute red card he received during his side's narrow forty to thirty-eight away triumph against Leicester on Saturday. The twenty-eight-year-old international was initially penalised for a high challenge on Tigers fullback Freddie Steward during the contest.
Steward subsequently aided the independent inquiry by submitting a statement and testifying that he believed no malicious intent was involved. Although the panel ultimately disagreed with the pair's characterisation of the impact as merely glancing, they determined the collision involved only low to moderate force rather than a high degree of danger.
Consequently, Isiekwe is cleared to play when Saracens welcome Sale Sharks to their home ground for their upcoming league fixture on Sunday afternoon.
