In a dramatic finish to the Red River Rivalry, Oklahoma’s Isaiah Sategna III delivered two clutch receptions that sealed a 27-24 upset over No. 1-ranked Texas.
With the game hanging in the balance and 19 seconds left, Sategna made a game-saving catch over Texas cornerback Graceson Littleton, initially ruled incomplete before being overturned on replay. He later secured another critical reception by the sideline, both plays setting up Tate Sandell’s game-winning field goal.
Sategna’s two career-best catches—totaling 13 and 20 yards—highlighted his standout performance, where he finished with a game-high-tying five receptions for 64 yards. The Sooners’ offense, which had struggled early, found its rhythm in the final minutes, thanks in part to Sategna’s precision and coach Brent Venables’ strategic adjustments.
Despite a roughing-the-passer penalty earlier in the fourth quarter—earned after Sategna was hit while throwing an interception—Sategna’s resilience and playmaking kept Oklahoma in the game until the end.
