Ireland cricketer admits to substance abuse, receives ICC ban

Ireland international Rebecca Stokell has agreed to a voluntary suspension after testing positive for a banned substance derived from prescription medication. The governing body confirmed the violation stemmed from a sample collected during a T20 World Cup fixture against Sri Lanka earlier this year.

Stokell acknowledged full responsibility for the regulatory breach and expressed her intention to return to national team duties once her disciplinary proceedings conclude.
