Oklahoma defensive lineman David Stone suffered a terrifying injury during a Monday practice when a collision dislocated his kneecap, causing him to fear his career was over. After clean X-rays and an encouraging MRI revealed a bone bruise and strained ligaments rather than severe structural tears, Stone refused to miss Saturday's matchup against second-ranked Georgia.
Sporting a heavy brace and sleeve, the junior started and logged 29 snaps with two tackles during the Sooners' 41-13 defeat. Supported by close friend and teammate Jayden Jackson throughout his recovery process, Stone ultimately proved unstoppable in his quest to return to the gridiron despite not participating in any practices during the week.
