Injury rules Ireland's Wafer out of Japan game

Aoife Wafer has picked up a minor training knock, forcing her out of Ireland's upcoming fixture against Japan in Galway this Sunday. Boss Scott Bemand has shuffled his lineup by making six alterations following a stunning 40-36 defeat to the United States last weekend, a match where the Americans erased a 31-12 deficit through four consecutive tries in Tallaght.

Fresh faces entering the starting XV feature Beibhinn Parsons, Anna McGann, Aoibheann Reilly, Eilís Cahill in her maiden start, Neve Jones, and Brittany Hogan. Meanwhile, Munster's 21-year-old Beth Buttimer has secured a spot on the bench and stands ready to claim her international debut as a substitute.
