India secured a double podium finish in the men's javelin event at the Asian Games. Yashvir Singh claimed the silver medal with a personal best throw of 85.72 meters on his final attempt, while his compatriot Rohit Yadav captured the bronze with a mark of 84.35 meters.
Sri Lanka's Rumesh Pathirage won the gold medal by registering a throw of 88.33 meters. Both Indian throwers competed as the nation's main medal hopes following the withdrawal of Neeraj Chopra due to a ligament injury, and Pakistan's Arshad Nadeem finished just off the podium in fourth place.
