India secured a dominant eight-wicket victory over the West Indies in the opening match of their three-match series, successfully chasing down a target of 295 with more than eight overs remaining. Captain Shubman Gill and veteran batter Virat Kohli dismantled the opposing bowling attack through a massive partnership that made short work of the run chase.
During the innings, Kohli achieved a major milestone by surpassing 15,000 runs in one-day international cricket alongside scoring his 55th century in the format.
