The Evanston–New Trier high school football rivalry is making headlines after selling out Northwestern’s Ryan Field for their annual matchup, marking the first high school game at the $862 million stadium. Tickets for the 118th edition of the Wildkits vs.
Trevians clash went on sale October 10, with nearly 20,000 sold by Monday, October 12, and fans waiting in long lines on Ticketmaster to secure remaining seats. Pricing ranged from $10 for students to $50 for premium seating, reflecting the high demand for the game, which is just the third football event at Ryan Field since its opening on October 2.
The rivalry, announced in May as part of Northwestern’s inaugural season plans, draws from nearby schools—Evanston High is just two miles from the stadium, while New Trier High is five miles away. Northwestern’s first college game at the stadium, against Penn State, also drew a sellout crowd of 35,000 fans.
