
The International Cricket Council has rolled out several updated Playing Conditions for international fixtures starting on October 1. Among the notable adjustments, teams can now mutually opt for a pink ball during daytime Test fixtures in an effort to combat lost time caused by poor visibility.
Furthermore, stricter protocols addressing batter pacing have been established, moving from an initial warning to subsequent penalty runs. These revisions follow previous friction witnessed during a 2025 Test match between India and England at Lord's involving several players.
