Indian national team leader Harmanpreet Kaur has officially relinquished leadership duties across all formats following a recent evaluation gathering in Guwahati. Although cricket administrators attempted to convince her to maintain her role specifically for Test matches and one-day internationals, she declined the proposal entirely.
Smriti Mandhana, who currently serves as deputy and previously guided the squad during absences, is widely anticipated to step into the primary leadership position. During her tenure, Harmanpreet guided the team to numerous historic triumphs, including an inaugural fifty-over world championship and multiple continental crowns, while planning to continue contributing purely as a batter for the final phase of her career.
