Guardians News: Armstrong to Open for Game 4

The Cleveland Guardians will look to extend their American League Championship Series against the Tampa Bay Rays with Game 4 tonight at 8:00 PM ET, pending favorable weather conditions. Starting pitcher Shawn Armstrong (#43) is expected to take the mound initially, potentially pitching for an inning or slightly longer before handing the ball to Joey Cantillo.

The rotation may also see Tanner Bibee and Slade Cecconi contribute in middle-relief roles, depending on how the game unfolds. Armstrong’s appearance could also serve as a strategic move to preserve Cade Smith’s workload, ensuring he remains available for a potential Game 5 if needed.

Meanwhile, the Milwaukee Brewers secured their first National League pennant since 1982 by sweeping the Los Angeles Dodgers, eliminating the defending champions from postseason contention.
