Grading Wisconsin’s first half of the season: Where have the Badgers exceeded expectations?

Wisconsin enters its upcoming matchup against the 12th-ranked UCLA Bruins with a 4-1 record following a bye week. The Badgers have secured victories over Western Illinois, Eastern Michigan, Penn State, and Michigan State, with their only defeat occurring against Notre Dame.

Currently, the team sits as the top squad receiving votes in the AP Top 25 poll. Fan sentiment regarding the season's opening half remains largely positive, with a significant majority of voters assigning a grade of B, while smaller segments of the fanbase awarded marks of A or C.

Analysts have noted that while the team shows promise, improvements in offensive consistency and ball security remain necessary as the season progresses.
