Neenah secured a thrilling 35-31 victory over Kimberly in their regular-season finale, clinching a share of the Fox Valley Association championship alongside Kaukauna. The win marked the Rockets' 25th conference title in program history, capping off a strong 6-1 record in the FVA despite finishing 6-3 overall.
Senior quarterback Ashton VanBeek led the charge with a standout performance, delivering four total touchdowns—two rushing (including a 95-yard highlight) and two passing—to account for 212 rushing yards and 171 passing yards. His clutch play included a game-sealing 93-yard drive in the final minutes, featuring a mix of explosive runs and precise passes to teammates like Matthias Charles, who made a game-saving catch in the end zone after a 40-yard throw from VanBeek.
Kimberly fought back late with a 29-yard field goal and a 32-yard touchdown run by Maddux Hermus, cutting the deficit to 31-28 with under three minutes left. Neenah’s defense, however, held firm, with defensive back Logan Price intercepting a pass near the goal line in the final seconds to preserve the win.
Coach Steve Jung praised his team’s resilience, noting their ability to make critical plays under pressure, including a key interception midway through the fourth quarter. The victory sets up Neenah for a playoff push, with VanBeek already focused on the next challenge: 'As soon as we’re off this field, it’s on to next week.'
