Rory McIlroy’s nightmare run knocks him out of contention in India Championship

Rory McIlroy has fallen out of contention at the DP World India Championship following a difficult third round marked by multiple bogeys and a double bogey. While McIlroy aimed to match Colin Montgomerie's record of eight Harry Vardon Trophy wins, he currently sits 10 strokes behind leader Eugenio Lopez-Chacarra, who holds a two-shot advantage over Angel Hidalgo and Joost Luiten with seven holes remaining in his round.

Patrick Reed, Scott Jamieson, Todd Clements, Tom McKibbin, Tommy Fleetwood, Gregorio De Leo, Dan Bradbury, Bob MacIntyre, Shane Lowry, and Laurie Canter also feature in the leaderboard standings as play was suspended due to fading light.
