DeWanna Bonner guided the Atlanta Dream to their first WNBA championship series appearance since 2013 by completing a three-game sweep of the New York Liberty. The veteran forward, who joined Atlanta via an August buyout from Phoenix, secured the decisive 85-83 victory on Friday night with two free throws with 6.2 seconds remaining.
Throughout the five-game postseason run, Bonner averaged 13.3 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 1.8 assists, including a standout 23-point, nine-rebound effort in the first semifinal game after Alisha Gray was lost. The 17-year veteran, a two-time champion with Phoenix, now seeks a third title as the Dream prepare to face either the Las Vegas Aces or Golden State Valkyries starting October 17.
