Falcons – 49ers instant recap: A delightful upset against an undefeated team

The Atlanta Falcons secured their inaugural home victory of the 2026 campaign by overcoming a previously undefeated San Francisco squad with a final score of 29-20. Despite entering the matchup with a six-game winning streak and a banged-up roster, the visitors struck first in the opening quarter following a fourth-down touchdown leap by Christian McCaffrey.

Atlanta responded immediately with a lengthy kickoff return from Zachariah Branch, which ultimately set up a field goal by Nick Folk to narrow the deficit.
