The 2026 Formula 1 Mexico City Grand Prix concludes with a 71-lap race starting at 8pm GMT. Mercedes competitor Andrea Kimi Antonelli has the opportunity to secure the world title by finishing inside the top nine, which would make him the youngest champion in the sport's history despite feeling unwell and starting from fifth on the grid.
Meanwhile, Ferrari representative Lewis Hamilton secured his initial pole position for his current constructor and his first since 2023 following a brilliant final lap in Q3.
George Russell begins the event in second position for the start, while Charles Leclerc occupies the third spot on the grid. Max Verstappen of Red Bull fell to fourth place because of a penalty resulting from an incident in practice with Liam Lawson, who subsequently lost his qualifying standing due to a technical infringement.
Additionally, Ryo Hirakawa steps in for Haas to make his maiden appearance in the series after replacing Esteban Ocon.
