Former England hooker Jack Singleton has rejoined Glasgow Warriors on a short-term basis, marking his return to professional rugby just over a year after a serious cardiac event during training. The 30-year-old, who previously played for Gloucester, Worcester, and Saracens, has signed to provide cover for the upcoming Nations Championship and Six Nations tournaments.
Singleton, who scored 20 tries in 75 appearances for Gloucester, revealed that his condition—later identified as hereditary—required multiple medical interventions, including stents and artery-opening procedures. Though he has been cleared for full training since May, his readiness to return to match play remains uncertain, with the player himself acknowledging he would step onto the field immediately if called upon, despite potential fitness limitations.
His return is notable as he holds Scottish eligibility through his grandparents, though he has not yet represented Scotland at the international level. Meanwhile, Glasgow’s Gregor Hiddleston and Seb Stephen are expected to feature for Scotland in upcoming internationals, leaving Singleton’s role primarily focused on domestic competition for now.
