Eugenio Chacarra’s distinctive putter setup has evolved significantly this season, blending a long-broomstick style with a recent technical tweak that’s already delivered measurable results. The four-time DP World Tour winner has long favored a Spider Tour S Long putter, but after months of collaboration with TaylorMade, he adjusted its lie angle from 79° to 76°—a flatter position that better aligns with his stroke mechanics.
This change, refined with input from reps Alex Marine and James Holley, allowed Chacarra to improve his alignment and consistency, particularly on shorter putts and from outside 30 feet. His putting performance has surged since the adjustment, vaulting him into the tour’s top three in adjusted Strokes Gained: Putting and securing his third victory of the year at the DP World India Championship, where he finished fifth in SG: Putting at Delhi Golf Club.
The shift also helped reduce his three-putt rate and boosted his success rate from 6–12 feet by nearly 40% over recent events, positioning him as a Race to Dubai title contender.
