Auburn HC Alex Golesh has no update on star linebacker who was suspended for Georgia game

Auburn head coach Alex Golesh told reporters on Monday that he has no current update regarding the status of linebacker Xavier Atkins, who missed the Tigers' recent victory over Georgia due to a suspension. Golesh previously characterized the disciplinary matter as an internal issue and declined to provide further details on its severity.

Despite Atkins' absence, Auburn secured a historic upset against the No. 1 ranked Bulldogs in Athens, marking the second time since 1942 that a Tigers coach has defeated Georgia while the Bulldogs held the top national ranking.

The defense limited Georgia to 113 rushing yards, with Elijah Melendez and Bryce Deas combining for 17 tackles; Melendez also recorded an interception, a sack, and a pass breakup. Quarterback Byrum Brown contributed 115 rushing yards in the win, and the team now faces No.
