England v Pakistan: third men’s cricket Test, day three – live

Coverage of the third men's Test match between England and Pakistan got underway from Edgbaston for day three, scheduled for an 11am BST start on Friday. Recent reporting also highlighted an Ashes legal battle responsible for the absence of a 2027 Test match staged in northern venues, alongside a spotlight on the Knight-Stokes Cup at Lord's.

The historic ground, which previously welcomed men's and women's Tests, the Women's T20 World Cup final, and the Hundred finals during the same season, opened its doors on Thursday to four state-school sides competing directly by the Pavilion and Father Time weather vane. Contenders from Altrincham Grammar School, John Hampden Grammar School, Penistone Grammar School, and Chelmsford County High School took part in both boys' and girls' finals.

The tournament commemorates England Test captains Heather Knight and Ben Stokes, both of whom attended state schools and sent recorded video greetings to the participants. The young finalists enjoyed the complete international experience, which included full access to the Pavilion changing facilities, dining, and press responsibilities.
