England's Palmer a 'victim' of 'sick' schedule, says PFA chief

Professional Footballers' Association chief executive Maheta Molango has criticized the current match schedule, describing the system as sick and unsustainable following five withdrawals from the England squad. Speaking at a summit in London, Molango highlighted that players like Cole Palmer are victims of an increasingly congested calendar.

Thomas Tuchel had previously commented that Palmer misses too many opportunities, while Molango countered that biology places strict limits on athletes. Similar withdrawals have affected other European national teams, prompting calls for a mandatory summer break and retraining period that the Premier League currently views as unfeasible.
