The NFL has determined that the Philadelphia Eagles will not face disciplinary action over their handling of quarterback Jalen Hurts’ medical situation, including his participation in Week 5 against the Jacksonville Jaguars in London. According to league findings, the process to clear Hurts—who later missed the remainder of the 2026 season after blood clots were discovered in his lungs—was conducted appropriately.
The NFL also clarified misinformation surrounding reports that Hurts had not slept for 36 hours before the game, stating the claim was false and that the team’s request for players to stay awake stemmed from travel logistics following the international matchup, not medical restrictions. The league’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr.
Allen Sills, oversaw coordination with the Cleveland Clinic in London and Eagles medical staff throughout the evaluation process, ensuring compliance with established protocols.
