Washington nearly pulled off a fourth-quarter comeback behind Jayden Daniels, who connected on two late touchdowns. After finding the end zone inside the final two minutes, the visitors failed on a critical two-point attempt that would have deadlocked the contest.

The road defeat dropped the Commanders to 0-1, though Daniels, Sonny Styles, and the defensive unit flashed promise, while Philadelphia benefited from contributions across the roster by Saquon Barkley, Dontayvion Wicks, and Makai Lemon under Sean Mannion.
