After being sidelined for Sunday's game due to personal matters, 36-year-old Eagles offensive lineman Lane Johnson has officially ended his 14-year professional career. The two-time Super Bowl champion, who earned six Pro Bowl selections and two first-team All-Pro honors, cited a need to prioritize his mental health and family obligations as the primary reasons for his departure.
Throughout his tenure since being selected in the 2013 draft, the team maintained a 122-63-1 record with him on the field, compared to an 18-30 mark when he was absent. Johnson, who started 171 regular-season games and 15 postseason contests, expressed that his decision followed significant reflection regarding his future priorities.
