Dricus du Plessis' coach says he rejected UFC 205-pound tournament offer

Dricus du Plessis recently declined an invitation from the UFC to participate in a four-man tournament at the light heavyweight limit. According to his head coach, Morne Visser, the promotion intended to use this bracket to determine a contender for the 205-pound title.

Du Plessis opted against the proposal to maintain his focus on regaining his previous championship status in the middleweight division. The fighter previously secured a unanimous decision victory over Kamaru Usman during his most recent appearance at UFC Oklahoma City.
