The upcoming diamond edition of the Ron Hill Manchester Relays will take place at Wythenshawe Sports Ground on Saturday, October 24, marking the diamond anniversary of the student cross country competition established in 1967 by Olympians Ron Hill and John Whetton. Following initial inspiration from London university relays, the founders launched the event, which now regularly hosts hundreds of competing teams with backing from the namesake sportswear brand and representatives like Graham Richards.
Recent years have seen dominant performances from Birmingham University alongside rising stars such as Manchester PhD student Arlo Ludewick, who claimed last year's opening leg victory before capturing the British 1500m title.
