Colorado suffered a severe 57-24 defeat against Oklahoma State during a road matchup. The offensive collapse forced head coach Deion Sanders to deploy his fifth different quarterback since his son Shedeur departed for the NFL draft.
Isaac Wilson opened the contest under center and initially led a strong first-half performance, accumulating 222 passing yards and two touchdowns alongside a rushing score. However, after intermission, Wilson unraveled by committing a fumble on the opening play of the third quarter followed by two quick interceptions, finishing the final two quarters with only 58 yards through the air as the opposition went on a dominant 34-0 scoring run.
With the offense stalling out completely, Sanders pulled his starter and handed the reins to true freshman Kaneal Sweetwyne in the fourth quarter. Sweetwyne finished completing three of five pass attempts for 63 yards, which featured a long 51-yard completion, though his initial drive resulted in a three-and-out.
The program now sits at a disappointing 2-5 overall record without a victory in conference play, struggling significantly to find any stability at the quarterback position following a carousel that has also featured Julian Lewis, Kaidon Salter, and Ryan Staub over recent stretches. Sanders has not yet named a starter for the upcoming game against Kansas State.
