Chicago Cubs history unpacked — October 26

Looking back at historical October 26 milestones across Major League Baseball, several notable achievements stand out. In 1971, Vida Blue claimed the American League Cy Young Award at just 24 years old, while Ferguson Jenkins captured the National League honor for the Chicago Cubs.

On that same date in 2016, the Cubs leveled the World Series by defeating the Indians five to one, aided by strong pitching from Jake Arrieta and key runs driven in by Kyle Schwarber.
