De Minaur reaches China Open final with Djokovic playing Medvedev next

Alex de Minaur booked his spot in the championship match of the hardcourt tournament in Beijing when his opponent, Hubert Hurkacz, was forced to withdraw midway through their semifinal encounter on Monday due to an unspecified physical issue. De Minaur held a lead of six games to four and three games to two in the second set before Hurkacz stopped playing, hampered significantly in his movement.

In Tuesday's title match, De Minaur will face the winner of the later semifinal pairing between Novak Djokovic and Daniil Medvedev. Meanwhile, Elena Rybakina pulled out of the upcoming Wuhan Open because of a foot ailment following her recent second-round exit in the capital city against Alina Charaeva.
