David Bailey knows what’s on his shoulder with Jets — he’s ready to seize that ‘opportunity’

New York Jets pass rusher David Bailey is embracing a crucial defensive role heading into a Week 2 matchup with the Green Bay Packers, following an opening-week win over the Tennessee Titans at Nissan Stadium on September 13, 2026. The edge rusher, wearing number 31, is poised to anchor the defensive front alongside Will McDonald IV as New York aims to start the year 2-0.

Head coach Aaron Glenn brings prior familiarity into the contest, having compiled a 5-3 record against Green Bay during his time with the Detroit Lions. Facing Green Bay offensive tackles Jordan Morgan and Zach Bako-Bewele, New York is anticipated to lean on its blitz schemes and a rushing attack powered by running back Breece Hall.
