The Dallas Cowboys are making a significant addition to their injury-plagued defensive backfield by trading for Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Joey Porter Jr. According to reports surfacing late Wednesday night, Dallas is sending a sixth-round draft choice in 2027 and a second-round selection in 2028 to complete the deal.
This roster move comes as the team deals with severe depth issues following numerous players landing on the injured reserve list during the opening weeks of the season. Head coach Brian Schottenheimer noted that the franchise is considering simplifying its defensive game plan ahead of the upcoming matchup against the Houston Texans.
Meanwhile, linebacker Jaishawn Barham has seen increased playing time and strong performances in place of the injured DeMarvion Overshown.
