Cowboys and Lions among teams to call Steelers about potential trade for Joey Porter Jr.

Several organizations, including the Dallas Cowboys and the Detroit Lions, have reached out to the Pittsburgh Steelers regarding a potential deal for cornerback Joey Porter Jr., according to reports from ESPN. Both interested franchises have dealt with notable defensive backfield injuries early in the campaign.

Meanwhile, the cornerback has missed action due to a back issue, though he is listed as questionable for an upcoming matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals and has indicated he intends to play once fully recovered.

Beyond his health status, the defensive standout is looking for a new deal, although the Pittsburgh franchise traditionally avoids in-season contract adjustments. The player dismissed speculation about requesting a trade, denied seeking a secondary medical evaluation, and minimized the significance of missing his extension deadline as previous events.
