Colts officially place WR Alec Pierce on IR and add wideout reinforcement to active roster

The Indianapolis franchise has officially placed wide receiver Alec Pierce on the injured reserve list following an ankle and heel aggravation sustained during last Sunday evening's matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs. Because of this designation, the pass catcher will be sidelined for a minimum of four upcoming matches, though initial medical projections suggest an absence stretching toward the middle of the campaign.

To help fill the vacant roster spot, leadership elevated wide receiver Nick Westbrook-Ikhine from the practice squad onto the main active roster.
