
During the intermission of the matchup between the Georgia Bulldogs and the Oklahoma Sooners, former star running back Garrison Hearst received official recognition from the National Football Foundation with an on-campus salute celebrating his induction into the 2026 College Football Hall of Fame class. Hearst played for the Bulldogs from 1990 through 1992, compiling 3,232 rushing yards, 3,934 all-purpose yards, 16 games with at least 100 yards on the ground, and 33 rushing touchdowns, ranking him behind only Herschel Walker in those categories in program history.
His standout 1992 campaign featured 1,547 rushing yards and 19 scores, earning him SEC Player of the Year honors, the Doak Walker Award, and a unanimous selection as an All-American.
