Chiefs News: Kenneth Walker was fined by the NFL in Week 1 win

Running back Kenneth Walker III made an unforgettable regular-season debut for the Kansas City Chiefs in their Week 1 victory over the Denver Broncos, though it came with a financial penalty from the league. Walker posted 173 rushing yards on 23 attempts, added 18 receiving yards on three catches, and scored two total touchdowns, including a fourth-quarter run from two yards out.

His standout showing earned him AFC Offensive Player of the Week accolades, as well as praise from offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy and defensive lineman Chris Jones. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes and rookie Xavier Worthy also contributed to the offensive showing.

Following the triumph, Walker disclosed that the NFL handed him a fine stemming from an incident connected to his second score of the contest. Despite losing money from his paycheck, the running back maintained that the infraction was completely worthwhile because of the happiness it brought to an attending spectator.
