The Chicago Bears made several roster adjustments Friday, activating cornerback Kyler Gordon from the Physically Unable to Perform list after he completed a 21-day practice window. Gordon, who has not played this season due to a lingering calf injury from the offseason, participated fully in all nine practices over the past three weeks.
Head coach Ben Johnson expressed confidence in Gordon’s readiness, noting his ability to contribute in multiple defensive roles, including nickel, cornerback, and safety. The Bears will look to deploy Gordon’s versatility against the Atlanta Falcons this Sunday, though his availability remains contingent on staying healthy.
In other moves, the team placed defensive lineman Dayo Odeyingbo on injured reserve with a quad injury, ending his current streak of strong play that included three sacks and three tackles for loss. Odeyingbo, who leads Chicago’s defensive linemen with two batted passes, will miss at least four games.
The Bears also elevated linebacker Buddy Johnson and running back Zavier Scott from the practice squad for Sunday’s game, while signing defensive back Nick McCloud to the 53-man roster and releasing safety Xavier Woods.
