Veteran India batter Cheteshwar Pujara recently offered high praise for explosive opening batsman Abhishek Sharma, comparing the left-hander's destructive potential to West Indies legend Chris Gayle. The commentary followed Sharma's quickfire 69-run knock against West Indies, which helped the home team post 223 runs and secure a 14-run victory in Indore.

During that match, Sharma also became the fastest men's cricketer to surpass 2,000 runs in the T20 international format.
