Golden State Valkyries team owner’s role in helping Atlanta Dream host WNBA Finals revealed

Golden State Valkyries owner Joe Lacob recently revealed that he exerted significant pressure on league leadership to relocate upcoming championship matchups for the Atlanta Dream to a larger venue. Initially slated for the 3,500-seat Gateway Centre Arena, Games 3 and 4 of the upcoming series risked presenting an unfavorable optical contrast compared to other packed arenas across the league.

Following coordination between the WNBA, the NBA, and the Atlanta Hawks, the fixtures were successfully shifted to State Farm Arena by adjusting the dates and kickoff times around preexisting scheduling conflicts.
