Suryansh Shedge in contention for maiden India ODI call-up vs New Zealand

Suryansh Shedge is drawing strong consideration for a spot in India's upcoming fifty-over squad to face New Zealand after delivering stellar performances during a List A series against Australia A in Puducherry. The twenty-three-year-old seam-bowling all-rounder claimed four dismissals in the opening fixture and contributed an unbeaten knock of sixty-six runs to seal a victory in the final match.

Selectors may opt to include Shedge in the touring party because fellow all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy is expected to feature heavily in the subsequent Test matches and requires adequate red-ball preparation. Pragyan Ojha leads the interim selection committee facing a tight turnaround between the limited-overs contests and the opening Test.
