Caleb Williams Week 1 QB Grade: Bears @ Panthers Film Breakdown

Caleb Williams kicked off his third professional campaign in explosive fashion, guiding the Chicago Bears to a 59-37 triumph over the Carolina Panthers at Bank of America Stadium on September 13, 2026. The signal-caller connected on 21 of his 29 throws for 269 yards and a pair of scores while also generating 65 rushing yards alongside two touchdowns on the ground.

Behind his stellar four-touchdown afternoon, Chicago's overall offensive unit piled up 552 yards.

Despite the offensive fireworks and surging MVP buzz, Williams maintained that the squad still needed to make corrections moving forward. Meanwhile, the quarterback's showing sparked considerable debate after Pro Football Focus assigned him an unexpectedly modest evaluation grade following the high-scoring victory.
