BYU football slides back to third-best Big 12 team in USA TODAY's latest rankings

Following a bye week, the BYU football team experienced a drop to twelfth place in the USA TODAY re-rank ahead of their upcoming Saturday matchup against TCU. Analysts placed the Cougars behind Utah and Texas Tech within the Big 12 conference hierarchy.

Despite the recent poll adjustment, the program carries forward a strong history in national rankings, having maintained a presence in the AP poll for eighteen consecutive releases and previously reaching higher positions earlier in the season following victories over Utah Tech, Arizona, and Colorado State.
