Future Army Black Knight Jameson Davis opened his final high school season with a commanding performance, leading Brother Rice to a 49-6 victory over Marist in the Battle of Pulaski. Davis, a senior running back with a military family background—his father, aunt, and grandfather all served—scored the Crusaders’ first touchdown on an 8-yard catch just two minutes into the game, setting the tone for a dominant offensive display.
He finished with two touchdown receptions, including a key play from freshman quarterback Sam Holcomb, who completed 9 of 11 passes for 138 yards. Beyond his rushing and receiving, Davis has become a reliable pass-catching threat, adding versatility to his game as the Crusaders secured a share of the Catholic League title alongside Mount Carmel and Loyola.
Davis’s leadership extended beyond the field, as he mentored younger players while maintaining his own high standards. Sophomore Aydan Yarbrough contributed with a 50-yard touchdown run and a 55-yard reception, while Kameron McGee and Damari Thigpen provided defensive stops with two sacks and an interception, respectively.
Brother Rice coach Casey Quedenfeld praised Davis’s communication and work ethic, highlighting his role as a captain who bridges experience and guidance for the team’s next generation of backs.
The win solidified Davis’s path to Army, where he’ll continue his football journey after a standout high school career marked by both physical dominance and leadership.
