The 2027 NFL draft class for wide receivers has seen significant movement, with Florida making a splash by landing Easton Royal, the top-ranked prospect in the nation. Royal, previously committed to Texas, flipped his pledge to the Gators after multiple visits to Gainesville, including a recent trip during Florida’s win over South Carolina.
This move solidifies Florida’s receiver class, which now includes Royal alongside three other in-state blue-chip talents: Elias Pearl, Tramond Collins, and Anthony Jennings. The Gators’ haul has propelled them into the top five in Rivals’ team recruiting rankings, marking a standout week on the recruiting trail.
Oregon and Texas A&M have also built strong receiver classes, with Oregon securing five-star Michigan standout Dakota Guerrant and four-star New Jersey prospect Xavier Sabb, while Texas A&M added four-star Eric McFarland and Jaden Upshaw. Rivals’ midseason rankings highlight 56 committed blue-chip receivers across 39 programs, with 13 schools holding multiple top-tier prospects.
The competition for elite talent remains fierce, as programs continue to target standout high school performers nationwide.
